Customer Review: Convex shape makes poor seal

I had two of Silicone Zone's 8.75" lids and also purchased a 6" one. I found them useful for covering dishes to prevent spatter in the microwave and somewhat useful for covering dishes in the fridge. However, with Silicone Zone's lids, as the size increases, the curvature of the lid increases, so a lid this large does not seal at all. I also purchased two 7" Lekue lids and found them to make a much better seal due to their flatter shape. Also the Lukue lids have a handle you can actually grasp, whereas Silicone Zone's lids "handles" have a very low profile and are difficult to grasp. I have not tried Progressive's silicone lids, but from the photos, they appear to have a flatter profile also. I know I like the Lekue lids, but I may try a couple Progressive lids just because they have sizes not available in the Lekue line. Conclusion: look for silicone lids that lie flat for the best seal.
